Huggy Bear A Hit Along With Other Spitters!
AWWWWW SPIT!!!
The reintroduction of ULIT 101 to KC's spoken word scene was as if no beat had been skipped since the dynamic trio who form Urban Literation last presented the venue.
With an impressive turn out for its first show, the spoken word artists and poetry enthusiasts combined to create some powerful energy and upliftment! Also in the house, along with Jason Betts on lead guitar and bass, keyboardist Ryan Howard and drummer Randy McGill provided the music for the night with the exquisite sounds of Esquire.
With the likes of artists like Victorie_Victoria, Mz. Angela Roux, Silence, Nightlife Jones, Miss T, Miss Love, D the Diva, Oprah the Hebrew Princess, Theory, Amazyn, Marcus "Brownhornet" Brown, Ivory, N'Spyre, Key Element and Lost Soul, the audience was truly blessed with a vast repertoire of verbal concoctions that are sure to carry them until the next show!
Also in the house was KC's own Dana Gilmore who spit it off the cuff and laced the crowd with a freestyle that was hotter than the lava that spews from volcanoes. She also provided an intro to the feature for the night, Mobile, Alabama's Huggy Bear the Poet who spit it so black and nasty that Isaac Hayes would've been inspired to cut a track to what this brotha put down on the mic.
So be sure to come out next Wednesday at 8 pm and enjoy an evening of hot fiyah smokin' spoken word with Urban Literation's presentation of ULIT 101: The Revolution of the Spoken Word...ULIT!!!!
